Disney cruise ship rescues four people from sinking catamaran near Bermuda | World News

It’s time for a brand new Disney A cruise ship has rescued four passengers stranded on a sinking catamaran off the coast of Bermuda.

Images shared by the WE The Coast Guard shows the Disney Treasure coming to the aid of disabled 50-foot catamaran, the Serenity, in the Atlantic on Sunday.

The small boat was 265 miles from the British island territory when it sent out a distress call at 8:30 a.m.

Her escape hatch had blown a seal, causing the Serenity to fill with gallons of water within minutes.

The closest ship was the Disney Treasure, which was traveling from the Netherlands to Port Canaveral, Florida, to prepare for its maiden voyage.

He was 80 miles away when he responded to the Coast Guard’s urgent call for help.

The swimmers were on the verge of drowning when a lifeboat from the cruise ship arrived to rescue them.

A crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, launched an HC-130 to hover over the scene until the rescue was completed.

After the passengers called for help, the Coast Guard broadcast a message. The Disney Treasure, which was about 80 miles away, launched one of its small boats and rescued all four passengers.

Disney Treasure Captain Marco Nogara said he was happy to be able to help passengers in peril.

“Our crew members worked together during the rescue, skillfully demonstrating their training and commitment to safety,” he said.

None of the rescued passengers appeared to have any medical problems following the incident.
