A 51-year-old man has died after a motor vehicle collision near East Gwillimbury, Ontario, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said.

Police said they were called to the area of ​​Highway 48 and Mount Albert Road shortly before 4:30 p.m. where the drivers of a motorcycle and an SUV were involved in a collision.

They added that the motorcyclist, a Stouffville resident, had died, but did not provide further details on the victim or the circumstances leading to the incident.

Ontario Provincial Police said Princess Street and Herald Road were closed in both directions as they continued their investigation.
