Santa Claus is Coming to Town: When and Where to Attend Local Parades

He makes a list of places he needs to be over the next few weeks and checks it twice.

That’s right, it’s Santa parade season.

Here is a list of parades taking place over the next month.

Santa Claus Parade in Kitchener-Waterloo

Saturday November 16

10:00 a.m. start

The parade route will follow Weber Street, from Frederick Street in Kitchener to Erb Street in Waterloo.

The Santa Run begins at 9:45 a.m. and will run the route before the parade. People can also bring their letters to Santa to collect along the way, along with donations for the Waterloo Region Food Bank and toys for firefighters collected for the Knights of Columbus Toy Drive .

Santa Claus Parade in Cambridge

Saturday November 16

7 p.m. start time

The parade route will run along Hespeler Road from Dunbar Road to Langs Drive. Road closures will be in effect from 4:30 p.m.

Elmira Santa Claus Parade and Block Party

Saturday November 23

start at 6 p.m.

The parade will take place throughout the city (see map below) and people are encouraged to follow the Santa Tracker on Facebook or Instagram. People are encouraged to gather with their neighbors to watch the parade.

Donations to the Woolwich Community Services Food Bank will be accepted.

Santa Claus Parade in Puslinch

Sunday November 24

2:00 p.m. start

The parade will begin at the Puslinch Township Offices on County Road 34, head east to Brock Road, then south to Maple Leaf Lane, then head west and end at Optimist recreation center.

There will be free hot dogs and hot chocolate at the recreation center and Santa will greet children with treats and be available for photos. A mailbox for letters to Santa Claus will be set up.

CPKC Holiday Train

Sunday November 24

Cambridge: 4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Ayr: 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The CPKC Holiday Train is back with free concerts and lots of lights decorating the train. The event is a fundraiser for local food banks.

Santa Claus Parade in Ayr-North Dumfries

Saturday November 30

1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The parade in Ayr will start at Northumberland and Inglis Streets, travel down Northumberland, turn left onto Stanley Street and finish outside Ayr Library.

Santa will be on hand to visit children in the Centennial Park gazebo.

Santa Claus Parade in Elora

Saturday November 30

start at 6:15 p.m.

This parade route begins at Sophia Street and Geddes Street, passes through the village’s downtown area, goes down the hill on Metcalfe before turning left onto Mill Street E. and ends at Bissell Park.

Santa’s Parade of Lights — Stratford

Sunday December 1st

start at 5 p.m.

The parade will follow the bank of the Avon River from Hillcrest Drive and William Street, travel east along William Street to Lakeside Drive N., cross the Festival Bridge, head west on along Lakeside Drive, will pass the Stratford Festival and end at the Tom Patterson Theatre.

New Santa Claus parade in Hamburg

Sunday December 1st

6 p.m.

Floats and participants will begin at Norm Hill Park, then the parade will proceed down Bleams to Peel Street, turn left onto Huron Street, turn right onto Union Street, then right onto Jacob Street back to the park Norm Hill.

Santa Claus parade in Hespeler

Saturday December 7

start at 12 p.m.

The parade route will extend from Groh Avenue to the corner of Guelph Avenue and Sheffield Street. Letters to Santa will be collected along the route.

Santa will be at the Scout House in Forbes Park following the parade. Donations will be accepted for the Cambridge Food Bank.

Santa Claus Parade in Fergus

Saturday December 7

departure at 1:30 p.m.

The parade will begin at the AO Smith parking lot, proceed along Maple Street to St. George Street, then along St. George Street to St. David Street S. before ending at Albert Street.

Prizes will be awarded for the best participation in the parade. Letters to Santa and donations from food banks will be accepted along the way.

Santa Claus Parade in the Guelph Community

Saturday December 7

start at 5:30 p.m.

The parade is part of the Spirit of the Season festival. It begins with the Santa Run, which will begin at 4:55 p.m. The parade will begin at Powell Street and Norfolk Street. It will take Norfolk Street, turn left onto Quebec Street, then right onto Wyndham Street N. before ending just after City Hall.

An indoor and outdoor Christmas market will take place in downtown Guelph on the same weekend.

Rockwood Farmers Santa Light Parade

Thursday December 12

start at 7 p.m.

The parade begins on Fifth Line, just north of the village, heads toward Rockwood, turns west on Highway 7 toward Guelph, then turns onto Fourth Line.

Organizers warn that the village fills up quickly with people wanting to see the parade, so plan ahead.

Type of Christmas in Wellesley

Friday December 13

start at 6:45 p.m.

The parade will begin at Wellesley Public School and head west on Queen’s Bush Road, south on Nafziger Road and right on Maple Leaf Street to end at the community center.

The evening will also include story time with Santa, a living nativity scene by the village pond, a tree of lights and Christmas carols by the pond and visits to Santa after the parade.
