Jets’ Logan Stanley to miss road trip with mid-body injury

The Winnipeg Jets will be missing a man on defense as they look to continue their historically hot start.

Stanley did not join the team for its upcoming three-game road trip and was not at practice Tuesday.

Arniel told reporters after morning practice that he will be re-evaluated for his injury when the Jets return home from a game against the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

It is unclear when the defender was injured. The 26-year-old missed the team’s first four games of the season while recovering from knee surgery.

The Kitchener, Ontario native has one goal and two assists in 11 games this season and is averaging 15:13 on the ice.

Winnipeg is the hottest team in the NHL this season. The Jets improved to 14-1-0, which was the most wins in 15 games to start the season. They will travel to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night to face the New York Rangers (9-3-1).
