Finally an autumnal atmosphere on Friday and during the weekend

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Typical mid-fall temperatures have returned to the Chattahoochee Valley for the first time in a few weeks. We will have plenty of sunshine through the weekend and early next week before a stronger cold front approaches mid-next week.

After starting Friday morning in the mid 40s to near 50 degrees, we will have tons of sunshine. Temperatures close to average with 60° in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Friday night plans look cold with temperatures dropping into the 50s once the sun sets. Clear, cool with a beautiful (full) moon sky this evening. There could be some fog in places early Saturday. Lows are mostly in the low to mid 40s, but there could be a few colder spots near LaGrange that briefly dip into the upper 30s.

Nothing but sunshine on Saturday. After a cold start, high temperatures will be near just over 70 degrees. It will be a pretty similar story on Sunday, but just a few degrees warmer and some clouds possible.

Cool mornings and pleasantly sunny afternoons await us this weekend.

Mostly sunny as we begin the next work week. Lows in the 40s to near 50 degrees will change to the mid 70s during the afternoon. Currently, clouds are expected to increase Monday evening, with scattered showers becoming more likely by Tuesday and perhaps into the first part of Wednesday, ahead of a cold front. This means our overnight lows will be closer to 60 degrees. However, from Thursday and Friday, very cool temperatures return. High temperatures forecast at this point are in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. Lows will be in the 30s and 40s. It is very possible that cold weather will persist through Thanksgiving week and we will have our first frost of the season.

Our next chance of rain returns as early as Monday evening or Tuesday.
