Weekend storms bring wind and rain

EL PASO, TX (KTSM) — Active weather returns to the Borderland with storm systems bringing winds and rain that will be with us through the weekend into Monday.

Clouds will begin to roll in Saturday afternoon. In addition to a high near 75 degrees, we can expect winds of 10 to 20 mph gusting to 30 mph. The risk of showering is greater at night, around 11 p.m.

The chance of showers increases for much of Saturday. We’ll see a high near 61 degrees and a low around 40. Winds won’t be as strong, ranging from 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon before gaining strength at night where they can gust up to ‘at 30 mph.

Monday will be mostly sunny as the system moves out of our area, but not without another windy day. Expect a high around 61 degrees with winds 20 to 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. These winds will calm down in the evening and leave us with a low of around 40 degrees.

Temperatures remain cool for the rest of the week with mostly sunny conditions. Our highs will remain in the lower 60s and upper 50s through Saturday before warming to the mid 60s on Sunday.

After Tuesday, we are near freezing overnight through Saturday and Sunday, where we can see a low of around 37 degrees.
