A private hospital located in Greater Noida is in the middle of a serious controversy after it was alleged that a seven-year-old boy underwent surgery on his evil eye, with the family charging Rs 45,000 for the procedure . A follow-up exam at another medical center reportedly found that no surgery had been performed on any of the child’s eyes, raising questions about possible medical malpractice at the hospital. Nitin Bhati, a resident of Bisrakh, noticed that his son’s left eye had been watering persistently for over a week. He then consulted a doctor at a nearby private hospital.

Hospital staff reportedly suggested there might be a foreign body, possibly plastic, in the boy’s eye and recommended surgery. Believing that this was the best solution, Bhati agreed. According to The Indian Express, the procedure was scheduled for November 11.

That day, around 9:30 a.m., the operation was performed and the family was informed that the operation was successful. In just two minutes, the boy was returned to his father, who was shown a picture of what doctors claimed was the plastic object that had been removed from the eye. The hospital assured them that everything had gone as planned.

When they returned home, they noticed that the bandage had been placed on the boy’s right eye and not the left, which was a cause for concern. This left the family both confused and anxious and they decided to seek a second opinion at another medical facility. To their surprise, the follow-up examination revealed no signs of surgery on either of the boy’s eyes, the report added.

The family’s suspicions were now confirmed and they immediately filed a police report. The matter was then referred to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for investigation. However, the CMO reportedly said his office is yet to receive any official communication regarding the matter, further fueling the family’s frustration.

The situation took an even more alarming turn when Nitin Bhati confronted the doctor involved in the case on November 12. According to Bhati, the doctor not only tried to destroy the prescription but also physically assaulted him during the confrontation.

In response to what they consider to be gross negligence and professional misconduct, the Bhati family are now demanding full reimbursement for the procedure and seeking justice for the traumatic experience they endured, the report added.
