CDawgVA defends IronMouse, says VTubers face discrimination

Following harassment from IronMouse after breaking Kai Cenat’s Twitch sub-record, CDawgVA publicly spoke out and claimed that she and other VTubers were experiencing unnecessary and disproportionate hate based on how they choose to broadcast and create content.

Connor admitted at the start of his video that he aimed to defend his friend, given that he and IronMouse have been close for years, but he also wanted to shine a light on what she and other VTubers deal with online.

While IronMouse got a lots of praise other Twitch streamers for his accomplishments, many other creators and viewers in general aren’t as nice.

Connor says there is “blind hatred” from creators like IronMouse simply because they choose to broadcast via an avatar rather than streaming themselves, which he says has gotten out of hand.

CDawgVA condemns people who “blindly hate” VTubers

IronMouse being not only one of the biggest VTubers, but also one of the the biggest creators on TwitchConnor made an entire video detailing the “psychotic” messages she receives, in which he shows an 85-page document compiling some of the things she was banned for saying in her conversation.

Topic starts at 3:17 p.m.

“It’s psychotic! That’s fucked up ! How’s it going?!” he exclaimed. “Like, if this was my conversation, I just wouldn’t broadcast. I just wouldn’t show up. It’s fucked up.

And while many of the people he mentioned were fans of Kai Cenat, he pointed out that the new biggest Twitch streamer has IronMouse publicly defended on several occasions, crediting her for standing up to her viewers and urging them to stop harassing her.

“I’m not entirely sure when this happened online, but I feel like (people think) it’s okay to blindly mock or hate something that we don’t understand or we haven’t learned anything,” he said. “As a creator, I would be embarrassed if I saw my viewers blindly hating someone else using my name. I would be mortified.

He also pointed out that IronMouse has been entirely “bullied” on platforms like TikTok, and that it’s not an experience that’s entirely unique to him. Several other VTubers have faced this form of discrimination.

“Mouse, and I assume most VTubers, have had to deal with insult after insult that is normalized,” he explained, noting that IronMouse in particular has been hit the hardest by it.

Every achievement she has achieved and every award she has won has been accompanied by a wave of vitriol and hatred from others, much of it based on the fact that she is a VTuber according to CDawgVA.

“This has led to a constant, constant – and I cannot stress this enough – constantstream of hate now that Mouse has had to face openly, on all his social media, for years,” Connor explained.

Connor concluded by saying that he had no interest in making the video beyond just wanting to defend his friend, but that he hopes that shedding light on the subject can help prevent IronMouse and other VTubers from receive “blind hatred”.
