Packers remind middle school students to participate in Character Playbook community impact project

The Green Bay Packers are inviting Wisconsin middle school students to develop service projects that directly impact their school, neighborhood or community through the Character Playbook Community Impact Project. The program is in its fifth year.

Student groups interested in participating in the program must submit their proposals online. before November 1st has packers.formstack.com/forms/characterplaybookcommunityimpactgrantapplication2024.

Under the leadership of a Wisconsin school or nonprofit organization, students are invited to create and execute a service project specific to their school, neighborhood or surrounding community. Once proposals are submitted, a select group of applicants will have the opportunity to present the group’s project idea to select representatives from the Green Bay Packers and Character Playbook.

If approved, project proposals will receive a grant of up to $500 using NFL Volunteerism Grant funds to help fund project implementation. Project ideas could include painting and renovating a common area, creating welcome kits for refugee or immigrant families, planning a neighborhood beautification project, creating a community garden and donating produce to a local food bank, or developing online programs where students can visit with younger children. students or organize bingo with senior centers.

Schools and nonprofit organizations will designate a project supervisor to guide students in their project and serve as a liaison to the Packers.

Those selected to present to Packers representatives should be prepared to make their presentations November 20-22, and grant recipients will be notified by December 2. The projects are expected to be completed by the end of the school year.
