Approximately 40 members and supporters of Radnor Palestine Links gathered to condemn the actions of the Israeli military, the IDF, in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon.

Saturday’s demonstration

The group said: “The horror of the Israeli campaign continues unabated and is now focused on northern Gaza, where hospitals have been hit and health workers have been arrested and shot. Ambulance drivers and other medical personnel were deliberately targeted and killed. First responders were prevented from rescuing people under the rubble. Children were separated from their parents, men and boys were stripped naked and taken into trucks.

“Israel is turning entire neighborhoods into mass graves. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to flee and are suffering from starvation and disease, without access to food, clean water or medical supplies. There is no doubt that Israel is committing war crimes in defiance of all international law.

“This follows weeks and months that have seen the deliberate targeting and killing of aid workers from UNRWA, Oxfam and other organizations. To date, the Israeli military has killed more than 1 150 health workers, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and paramedics. At least 131 journalists and media professionals are among the dead.

The current war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2023 when Hamas terrorists launched coordinated armed incursions from Gaza into southern Israel, where they killed 1,195 people, including 815 civilians, and took 251 Israelis held hostage.

Protesters call on the British government to condemn Israel’s actions in northern Gaza, seek an immediate and lasting ceasefire, end all arms exports to Israel, stop using British intelligence services to help Israel in its policy of genocide and ethnic discrimination. clean-up, to demand that aid can reach the occupied territories, to recognize the State of Palestine and to call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire.

“We can’t make it to the huge protest in London today and so we are protesting here in our hometown, where it is just as important that the message about the Israeli genocide is heard loud and clear. People seem “They think it’s all about the Hamas operation in October last year, but they forget the decades of oppression and killings that took place before that,” Angie Zelter said.

Radnor Palestine Links has called for a new protest and demonstration on November 9 in Presteigne.
