The coroner’s office cannot comment on the discovery of a body last week in Sudbury

Firefighters discovered the body of an elderly man while at the scene of a bushfire in Naughton on October 21.

Further inquests into the death of an elderly man whose body was discovered by firefighters battling a bushfire last week in Sudbury have yielded no new information.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services were on the scene of a bushfire in Naughton on October 21 when they discovered the body of an elderly man at the scene of the fire, which was off Cyr Street, Naughton. Greater Sudbury Police have been notified.

GSPS officers attended the scene and recovered the body of the 86-year-old man.

Police say no foul play or crime is suspected in the death and the body has been released to the Office of the Chief Coroner/Forensic Pathology Service of Ontario.

Sudbury.com has contacted the coroner’s office to see if any further information could be released regarding the individual’s death.
