AirAsia expands international routes; New flights to India, Vietnam and Cambodia

With these new routes, Thai AirAsia is optimistic about a good end to the year, aiming to carry between 20 and 21 million passengers.

As the festive season approaches, AirAsia is gearing up to increase travel by launching five new international flights. flights from Thailand in just three days.

The airline’s first flights departed from Bangkok-Don Mueang to Hyderabad, India, and Phu Quoc, Vietnam, both on October 27. From Phuket, new flights are now available to Kolkata (October 27), Chennai (October 30) and Siem. Reap, Cambodia (October 29).

To celebrate these launches, AirAsia, in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and local airports, organized welcome ceremonies for arriving guests.

Thai AirAsia is optimistic of achieving significant growth in the final quarter of the year, with a target of carrying between 20 and 21 million passengers in 2024.

Ms Tansita Akrarittipi, Sales Manager of Thai AirAsia, highlighted the impressive growth of the Indian market this year. “We have seen that the Indian market has grown remarkably this year and, supported by this exciting trend, AirAsia has decided to add three additional new routes to India, now connecting Thailand to 12 Indian cities via a total of 14 roads,” she said.

Mr. Arun Lilapantisitti, Phuket Station Manager for Thai AirAsia, highlighted the importance of these new routes to Phuket’s economy. “We are all very proud to have been able to contribute to the growth of AirAsia here and be part of the development of Phuket tourism as a whole,” he noted, expressing pride in the contributions of the local team from AirAsia.

The airline is also excited to introduce its first route to Phu Quoc, a beautiful destination in Vietnam, and to Siem Reap, home to the magnificent Angkor Wat.
