Corpses in refrigerator, cannibalism characteristic of Mexican cartel linked to UP drug trade

A surprising link to a deadly Mexican cartel was revealed when law enforcement busted a methamphetamine lab in Greater Noida in the National Capital Region. Members of one of Mexico’s most notorious drug cartels, the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), were involved in this clandestine drug laboratory. The Mexican drug cartel operates as a paramilitary force with armored vehicles, and one of its members’ initiation processes involves cannibalism.

Approximately 95 kg of drugs were seized during the raid carried out in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Delhi Police Special Cell.

The investigation into the lab’s destruction revealed the vast global network of the powerful and ruthless CJNG cartel, which Mexican and international media reports say is involved in cannibalism and other heinous practices.

The CJNG drug cartel allegedly incorporates cannibalism into its training camp for recruits to barbaric “terrorist schools” where they are forced to eat human flesh, according to a 2022 report by the Daily Beast.

GREAT NOIDA BUST HAS LINK TO MEXICAN DRUG CARTEL

The secret laboratory in Greater Noida, to which the Mexican CJNG was linked, was run by a former warden of Delhi’s Tihar Jailone of the largest prisons in India.

Further investigation revealed that the meth lab was linked to the CJNG, a cartel known for its extensive drug trafficking operations.

The CJNG, which emerged from the infamous Milenio cartel in 2010, quickly became one of Mexico’s most powerful and feared cartels, with operations in more than three dozen countries, including the United States, Europe and now, apparently, India.

CJNG RECRUITS WILL EAT HUMAN FLESH IN “SCHOOLS OF TERROR”

The notorious CJNG cartel, based in the western Mexican state of Jalisco, was founded by El Mencho, the most wanted man in Mexico and one of the most wanted men in the United States.

The CJNG is reportedly engaged in a deadly battle with the Sinaloa Cartel of infamous former Mexican drug lord Chapo Guzmán.

The CJNG cartel has a history of extreme violence and horrific practices, and the use of violence as a tool of control is a hallmark of its operations. It is therefore not unprecedented for such groups to resort to cannibalism as a form of psychological warfare.

In July 2024, several cartel members were blacklisted by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control for their association with the CJNG, “a notoriously violent group that has incorporated cannibalism into training and initiation of his thugs,” reported Organized Crime. and Corruption Reporting Project, a global network of investigative journalists.

Another example of the CJNG’s horrific cannibalistic practices in their “schools of terrorism,” exhibited in a 2022 video, was referred to by the Daily Beast as “a kind of Olympics of cruelty and sadism.”

“I went there and there was a lot of (cannibalism),” a member of the Jalisco Next Generation Cartel told The Daily Beast.

“First they teach them how to mutilate people,” the man explained. “They start by learning how to cut the ends.”

Experts told The Daily Beast that recruits are often forced to become man-eaters during the three to four months of training camp.

“They get to choose one of these pieces and eat them in front of the boss. You have to do it without reacting or vomiting, otherwise you get beaten,” a source told the Daily Beast. “If you didn’t want to (eat human flesh), they wouldn’t let you go, they had you there.”

CORPSES STORED IN REFRIGERATOR, CONSUMED OVER TIME, REPORT SAYS

A 2017 report from Mexico News Daily revealed that even minors were also involved in training to eat the victim’s flesh.

They stored the corpses in a refrigerator and, over a period of time, cut and ate pieces of flesh, according to the report.

Boys as young as 12 could participate in the same process, the Mexico News reported in 2017.

The CNJN cartel, which the US Department of Justice says is “one of the most powerful drug cartels in the world”, reportedly has full-time soldiers equipped with sophisticated machine guns and armored vehicles, with a detailed hierarchy.

“Meet the CJNG, or Jalisco New Generation Cartel. They are armed to the teeth and have military equipment and experience. The drug cartels are now paramilitary,” noted Malaysian journalist Ian Miles Cheong on X.

The collapse of the Greater Noida meth lab and the revelation of CJNG’s involvement are a reminder of the cartel’s global reach and the ruthless nature of Mexican drug gangs that cast a shadow over India.
