Metro Detroit Weather: Record Heat Possible Tuesday and Wednesday

Some early rain Tuesday morning will end around 7 a.m., leaving us with a mostly dry day. But if you’re caught in a downpour in these early hours, plan for it to be heavy!

As we progress through the rest of the day, we will dry out as the sky changes from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy.

Watch out for record heat! The maximum forecast is 77°, which would equal the daily record set in 1999. Tomorrow also flirts with the record since we should reach 78°, which would also break the record of 76° from 1999. End of October burst of heat! Additionally, keep an eye out for high winds today with a south wind gusting to 25 and 30 mph!

As Halloween approaches, all eyes are on the chance of rain. A cold front will move through during the day, bringing opportunities for rain early in the afternoon. Some pockets of rain could be heavy at times with gusty winds. All indications are that most of the rain will move out around 4-5 p.m., leaving us as dry as we were during those key processing or treatment hours. Temperatures during this evening window will be in the mid to upper 60s. If we can get this rain out of here, it might be the perfect weather for some fun!

Toward the end of the weekend we fall back into more fall-like conditions with highs in the lower and mid 50s.
