70-year-old man shot in the head with BB gun while walking in downtown Winnipeg

A 70-year-old man was walking away from a downtown Winnipeg restaurant when he was shot in the head with a BB gun, police say.

Two boys, ages 12 and 14, and a 13-year-old girl face assault and firearms charges.

Police were called shortly after midnight Monday to the area of ​​Portage Avenue and Hargrave Street, near the Canada Life Centre.

They found the man and provided emergency medical treatment until he was rushed to hospital in unstable condition. He has since been returned to stable condition.

Witnesses at the scene provided a description of the shooters to police, who were arrested a short time later.

Investigators believe the boys and girl fired their firearms at random and there may be other victims who have not yet been identified.
