This is what the mother of the late Priscilla Ocheme, a 28-year-old doctor, who died on September 22, 2024 in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, says.

The family is still mourning their daughter and sister who they say was foul play for her death.

She goes to visit a friend before they start finding her lair and the police report her dead.

The police said in a statement that the late Priscilla Ocheme died following a “fatal motorcycle accident at Amala Moore junction in Pyakasa” Lugbe, Abuja.

Priscillia’s last moments with her family

The bereaved family tell BBC Pidgin it will be like a dream to their eyes, for the sake of saying they don’t know, it’s Sunday September 22, the last time they will see, hear, speak or chat with Priscillia as they recount their final moments with Public Health Practitioner Di.

“This faithful Sunday, she made us hot rice, very hot rice, I go to church early so I let her go to church at home, I have no idea, say she will even see her friend.

Priscilla’s sister says everyone starts to worry when they don’t see or hear from her and she doesn’t come home, which is very unusual.

Later, her aunt said a number called her to inform her that the owner of the phone had met with an accident in Lugbe area and they were taking her to the hospital.

She said they all started looking for hospitals near Lugbe, but to no avail, until they contacted road safety to tell them they were receiving a report of an okada accident.

The road safety officers tell them their sister about the Bifor police who tells them her own story.

“On Sunday at 8:28 p.m. for the evening, she messaged me to send her N10,000, I try to send her money, they debit me but don’t credit her, they show as waiting for my app but they aren’t already charging me, I’m going to tell her not to do the transaction twice, make us wait a bit so they can back out or go get it.

I have catarrh so I take medicine that makes me sleep, when I wake up the next morning I remember saying I suppose I send money to my sister.

When I check my mobile app, I see, for example, the money reversed around 10 p.m. for the night. I don’t bother calling them again, I just transfer the money abruptly and they succeed.

I talk to her, telling her that I’m not sending money, she doesn’t respond, unlike my sister, because if she asks me for money like that, she’ll call, send a message. I don’t see any messages for the morning when I wake up, I don’t know if my sister will die at night.” She said.

“We suspect foul play”

The Prisillia family says they suspect foul play with the way she died.

They claim the timeline of events is from when they say she left a friend’s house where she went to see and the police told them how she died, without saying anything at all.

They also claim that the police are unable to produce the “good Samaritans” who transported her from the station due to the accident, nor the pipo they involved in the accident.

“For me to not hear from my sister for a day, it’s a big problem for me, most of the time when you see me you go to see my sister, in a day she might call me 10 times because we always call on the phone It’s very hard for me to say that I will never hear from her, I will never see her missed call, I will never see her message until now, c. ‘s a very big box for me and I miss it well, well Priscillia’s sister took.

The family says we are pushing for Mata to go further, for example for the police to release the friend Priscillia went to see before she died, when they say the investigation is still ongoing and they are released without notice.

The family adds that they are not writing a petition to the Inspector General of Police to take hold of Mata’s eye so that the late Priscillia can get justice.
