Fiona Oliver of the Wiltshire Community Foundation, which launched a fund for women and girls this year, said: “We welcome Robinson’s response for standing up for his employee.

The deputy chief executive said: “Harassment, stereotyping and discrimination against women and girls is far too common and is often brushed off as harmless jokes.

“The impact of such behavior can really affect victims.

“We must not hesitate to speak out about these issues and call out inappropriate behavior,” Ms Oliver added.

The charity is hosting a men’s event on November 22 to raise awareness of gender inequality and discrimination.
