Police investigating reports of people shot in Guelph

Some trick-or-treaters in Guelph reported having a frightening experience after being shot in the head.

Officers were called to the area of Morningcrest Park on Severn Drive around 8:15 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, a mother told police that her 12-year-old daughter and a friend had been hit by plastic bullets from an Airsoft gun.

Another mother also spoke to police and said her six-year-old son and his friends were in the park when a group of men approached them, asked if they had any candy, then shot them several times.

Several other people also told police similar stories. All victims reported being hit in the torso, neck and arms, but none required medical attention.

According to investigators, around ten suspects are involved. Most of them wore gorilla suits, except for one person wearing a ghillie suit, a type of clothing designed to camouflage oneself into one’s surroundings.

Anyone with more information is asked to call Constable Carson Skipper at 519-824-1212, ext. 20. 7283 or by email at [email protected].
