Drew Carey jokes about a contestant’s marriage (VIDEO)

East Drew Carey will he go down…the aisle? The fun host of The price is right played into the fact that he and a competitor had the exact same name, pretty much.

In a clip shared with ICTR On the official Instagram page earlier this week, a contestant took the stage for a chance to win a vacation. Her first name was “Carey”. The host was quick to turn the coincidence into a funny, if unexpected, comedy, imagining them getting married.

“I love your name,” said the host, shaking the gentleman’s hand. “What is your last name?” he asked. Carey replied “Klingfas”, so her full name was “Carey Klingfas”. Drew kept the routine going, declaring, “If we got married, we’d be Drew Carey Carey Klingfas.”

The contestant burst into nervous laughter and blushed, as the show’s Instagram team noted by adding a “hand covers face” emoji to the video. Announcer George Gray also played into the coincidence. Revealing he could win a vacation to Playa del Carmen, he added: “Well, it’s a fun trip for you two lovebirds!”

After composing himself, Klingfas began playing the game Freeze Frame, which involves winning a vacation if the player chooses the correct four numbers corresponding to the cost of the trip. A rotating piece of scenery gradually rotates a tile clockwise, stopping each time so that a different prize appears in the frame. Looking toward the audience, he was encouraged to pull the lever to “7,695,” which turned out to be the right price. Klingfas burst into joy as fellow countryman Carey said: “Great job!” »

Fans flooded the comments section, loving the big win and the meeting of the two Careys.

“I’m really happy he won!” wrote one fan.

“I’m ready to meet Drew too!” wrote another.

“This should be AMAZING…have a good trip!!!” wrote a third.

After a brief summer break, The price is right back with new episodes in September. Season 53 premiered September 23 on CBS. America’s longest-running game show is about to hit a major milestone: It’s set to air its 10,000th episode in February 2025. What did you think of Carey Klingfas’ victory on vacation?
