Cool Sunday, 70s Return This Week – Boston News, Weather, Sports

Good morning! It’s a cold start, with overnight lows falling into the 20s and 30s. Today will be clearer with less wind. Highs remain cooler near 50/low 50.

I hope you enjoyed an extra hour of sleep as our clocks went back overnight. This means an earlier sunset this evening. We lose about 2.5 minutes of daylight as the days get shorter. Our first sunset arrives December 5-11 at 4:11 p.m. We’re back to 5pm sunsets in February.

It will still be cold tonight with generally clear skies and light winds. Morning lows will be similar to what we woke up to this morning. Tomorrow will be different with more clouds. We will keep the wind light. Highs will be near average in the 50s. Normal highs are in the mid/above 50s in early November.

Today and tomorrow are good days to get some chores done outside. The wind blows gusty again Tuesday and Wednesday. With our very dry conditions and gusty winds, this will again increase concerns about fires.

Speaking of dry conditions, rain chances are minimal this week. Rain favors northern New England Monday evening and Tuesday. There is about a 10% chance of a shower to our south on Friday.

We will receive another update on our drought conditions on Thursday. About 84% of Massachusetts is abnormally dry. On top of that, about 14% of the state is in moderate or severe drought.
