Varsho, one of the best outfielders in the game, has actually played all three outfield positions this season. He started 76 games at center, 46 games at left and 32 games at right. He appeared in 94 total games in center, logging 672.0 innings there. He made just one mistake in the middle and had four assists.

Varsho’s glove helps him stay in the lineup as his bat has lagged in recent seasons. Since arriving in Toronto ahead of the 2023 season, he has hit just .217 with a .289 on-base percentage. He still has power, hitting 38 home runs over those two seasons. He had 18 this season in 136 games before being shut down with a season-ending shoulder injury.

Varsho was not the only one Blue Jays nominated player, but he was the only winner. Third baseman Ernie Clement lost to Alex Bregman of the Houston Astros.
