MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM — And then there were two.

Finalists for the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association provincial football championship were named last weekend, with each of the title games taking place next weekend.

In the 1A Six-Aside Division, the Hafford Vikings’ quest for a sixth straight provincial title continued in style, as they posted a 62-16 victory over the Lemberg North Valley Eagles in Lemberg. Things were slightly closer in the other semi-final, where the Hanley Sabers took a 48-16 victory over the St. Brieux Crusaders.

Hafford and Hanley will now face off in the gold medal match at Hafford, while the bronze medal match between Lemberg and St. Brieux will take place at Lemberg.

All provincial medal matches will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. in all divisions.

Class 2A Six-Aside saw the Clavet Cougars return to the provincial title game with a dominating 72-36 victory over the Rosetown Royals. Clavet will face the Wakaw Warriors for gold after Wakaw posted a 38-22 victory over the Southey Screaming Eagles.

The title game will take place Saturday at Clavet, while the third-place competition between Southey and Rosetown will take place in Rosetown.

The Tisdale Tornadoes booked their spot in the 4A Nine-Aside final in spectacular fashion, earning a 38-37 victory over the Delisle Rebels. Perennial title contenders Melfort Comets were a little more comfortable in the semi-final, securing a 63-42 victory over the Lumsden Devils.

The Nine-Aside provincial title game will take place in Melfort.

None of the 5A 12-Aside semifinals were as close, as the Saskatoon Bishop Mahoney Saints defeated the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones 31-3 and the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders beat the Regina Johnson Wildcats 39-13.

Bishop Mahoney will now host the gold medal game at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex.

The 6A 12-Aside finalists were determined Friday night by the Regina and Saskatoon City Championships.

The Campbell Tartans beat the Leboldus Golden Suns 28-20 in the Regina title game, while the St. Joseph Guardians defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders 38-34 to win the Saskatoon city title .
