Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid will return to the ice for Wednesday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.

He told reporters he “felt great” and “can’t wait to get back out there.”

McDavid has been out of action since Edmonton’s 6-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 28 due to an ankle injury.

The tankers initially set its return time is two to three weeks, so returning on Wednesday exceeds even the most conservative estimates.

“It certainly did, I didn’t feel very good,” he said. said of his initial concerns about the injury. “Ultimately, sometimes it can hurt and swell and stuff, but it can go away pretty quickly.”

Having the 27-year-old is a huge boost for Edmonton, which has regained its footing after a 2-4-1 start to the 2024-25 season. The team has won four of its last six games and is just one point behind the St. Louis Blues for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.

Despite missing time due to his ankle injury, McDavid is second on the Oilers in points (10) with three goals and seven assists.
