Black Ops November 6 Update 8 Patch Notes: Recon Combat Specialty nerf and XP fix

Ryan Lemay

SBMM has been the most controversial topic of discussion in online gaming for years.

Black Ops 6 has dealt another nerf to the Recon Combat specialty and fixed an issue preventing players from earning the appropriate amount of XP in the most recent update.

As part of the November 4 update, Treyarch listened community comments and nerfed the reconnaissance combat specialty. It basically provides a few seconds of wallhacks after you spawn, so the update reduced its duration from two seconds to 1.5.

This nerf didn’t do enough, because there was still no way to do it. counter annoying ability. There still isn’t a viable counter, but the latest update at least further reduces the duration from 1.5 seconds to one second. It remains to be seen whether this update will finally put the ability in a more balanced place.

Meanwhile, players have raised concerns that it takes too long to upgrade their weapons. Double XP helped speed up this process, but in the aftermath of the event, frustrations remain. The development team responded by adjusting the XP gain of specific game modes in this update.
