Worker struck by vehicle in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia

A construction worker is seriously injured after being hit by a car in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, on Thursday, an RCMP officer said in a press release.

RCMP, fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Hammonds Plains Road and Yankeetown Road.

Officers learned that a Hyundai Kona struck a worker holding a road sign after stopping in a construction zone.

The 63-year-old worker was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The driver of the Kona, an 82-year-old woman from Hacketts Cove, suffered no physical injuries.
