Business Buzz: YumTea Reopens in Downtown Fargo, Plans New Offerings – InForum

FARGO — YumTea has reopened its doors in Roberts Alley in downtown Fargo.

The smoothie and snack shop closed briefly while owners Katherine Nguyen and QiYao Long took some time to settle in.

Kone’s Kreamery, an ice cream and boba tea shop in South Fargo that the couple recently purchased.

Now, Nguyen and Long operate both businesses, and Long said there will be a bit of crossover, as some YumTea products will be available at Kone’s Kreamery, located at 1650 45th St. S. in Fargo.

Long said they are also working on establishing a relationship with DoorDash that would allow delivery of YumTea products.

He said YumTea customers can also expect new offerings at the downtown store, including ice cream products from Kone’s Kreamery.

Additionally, Nguyen and Long said they plan to start offering shaved ice treats at Kone’s Kreamery.

They said customers visiting Kone’s Kreamery will receive 20% off their purchases if they mention YumTea and follow the business on social media.

The deadline for submitting critical files is approaching

MINNEAPOLIS — Time is running out for some companies to file new reporting data with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). For non-compliance, business owners may face civil and criminal penalties: $500 per day of violation and up to two years in prison.

THE

Beneficial ownership information

The framework, established under the Corporate Transparency Act of 2021, requires disclosure of BOI data to FinCEN. This initiative allows FinCEN to collect and distribute beneficial ownership details to law enforcement agencies, financial institutions and authorized entities, thereby improving transparency and reducing opportunities for individuals to conceal or profit from illegally acquired assets.

Companies called “reporting companies” are required to report their beneficial ownership information to FinCEN. There are two types of reporting companies: domestic reporting companies and foreign reporting companies.

What information should companies report?

  • Full legal name of the reporting company or any trade name or DBA.
  • Professional address.
  • State or tribal jurisdiction of formation or registration.
  • TIN IRS.
  • Information on its beneficial owners and, for newly established companies, on its candidate company(ies), including name, date of birth, address and unique identification number and jurisdiction of issue, based on an acceptable identification document.

Business owners are encouraged to file these reports themselves or contact your CPA for guidance. Regardless of how reports are filed, it is important to meet the January 1, 2025 deadline.
