Aaron McKibbin (Epsom) did incredibly well to sweep the table at the Para-National Championships in Sheffield, winning the Open Singles, Class 8 and Open Doubles titles.

Aaron beat fellow Surrey native Max Flint (Merrow) in the final of the Open Standing event. Billy Shilton was Aaron’s doubles partner in the Open Standing Doubles event.

Max Flint won bronze in the class 10 men’s singles at the 2024 French Para SQY Open in Voisins les Bretonneux. In the Class 18 doubles event, Max Flint reached the quarter-finals with Theo Bishop.

Krish Chotai (New Malden) competed in the World Schools event in Bahrain. The England Boys’ Team 1 finished fourth and the England Boys’ Team 2 finished eighth.

In the individual event, Krish won all three matches he played in his first group 3-0 against players from Uganda, Bulgaria and India.

Krish beat a player from Bahrain in the round of 16 but lost to Hsu Hsien-Chia of Chinese Taipei in the round of 16.

In the Senior British Club League, Shaquille Webb-Dixon (Wandsworth) beat Chris Doran and won a doubles match but it was not enough for his Fusion team who lost 4-3 to Batts.

The Under 15 National Series 2, Boys Division 4 was won by Charlton Ngitngit. Caron Charles finished fifth in the Girls’ Under-19 Division 2 National Series 2. Francesco Bonato finished fourth in the Boys’ Under-19 Division 2 event.

At the inaugural Graham Spicers Over 40s 1 Star Tournament on Sunday 20 October, 28 men and 2 women were playing for ranking points and Bribar checks, with 14 players from Surrey and the remainder from Middlesex, Cambridgeshire, Essex, of Bedfordshire and Somerset. , Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Hampshire and Ukraine.

Band 1:
Oleh Biletskyi beat everyone before him, even though he was seeded third. There were many incredible matches with orthodox players, blockers, lobbers and hard hitters.

For second place there was a three-way tie between Adam Laws (Godalming), Jarek Chrzanowski (Cambridgeshire) and Daniel Heo (Burymead). Adam won the countback to finish second and Jarek third.

Band 2:
Evgeni Genchev (Essex) and Sandor Toczkanyuk (Essex) both won four matches and lost one match, but Evgeni won the head-to-head and therefore won the group. Artur Lopata (Middlesex) came third.

Band 3:
It was Tsz-Kit Chan (New Malden), unranked, who remained undefeated. Kinga Oryl (Godalming) came second and Jeremy Wu (Eldon) third.

Band 4:
Tony Needham (New Malden) rolled back the years, winning four of the five matches. Hiu Fai Lau (Warwickshire) also won four of the five matches, but Tony won their head-to-head and therefore won Group 4. Paul Elliott (New Malden) finished third.

Band 5:
Joe Leone (Wandsworth) and Graham Ponter (Hampshire) both had four wins, but Joe won their head-to-head and therefore won Group 5. Marek Mastelaczyk (Herefordshire) came third.

Carmen Vajdi (New Malden) seems to win the women’s over 60 title every year, but this year Annie Higham outdid herself and beat Carmen in the round robin event.

In the men’s over 60s, Phil Snelson (Burymead) beat Paul Baker (Burymead) and Percy Collino (Ashford) beat Joe Leone.

The final was a real concentration of defense and attack with Phil in attack and Percy in defense. Percy won 3-2 (16-14, 5-11, 3-11, 12-10, 11-9).

The men’s over-60s consolation final saw Ashley Hird (Wandsworth) beat Tio Collu.

There were six competitors in the women’s over-40 round robin event. Top seed and former Middlesex player Sarah Hornell (Ashford) came out on top, winning each match 3-0. Carmen Vajdi was the finalist.

In the men’s over-40s, the quarter-finals saw Daniel Heo beat Goran Maric (South Croydon), Ashley Hird (Wandsworth) beat Steve Davis (Merrow), Peter Stahlman beat Joe Leone and Percy Collino beat Phil Snelson.

Daniel Heo then beat Ashley Hird 3-1 and Peter Stahlman’s smooth topspin attack beat Percy Collino’s defense 3-0.

In the final, Peter Stahlman won 3-2 (8-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-9, 11-8).

A fun time was had by all in the over-40 doubles event, where the top two seeds reached the final, but it was second seeds Phil Snelson and Sarah Horsnell who beat the top seeds. Adam Laws and Goran Maric series. 3-1 (11-6, 12-10, 7-11, 12-10).

In the under-21 open event, Jaydan Griffiths (Sutton) beat Ernie Kemp (New Malden) 3-1 in the semi-final and Hoj Yoon (New Malden) beat Arnav Sharma (Ewell) 3-2 (11 -5, 8-11). , 11-7, 12-14, 13-11).

Hoj Yoon defeated Jaydan Griffiths 3-0 in the final.

Chui-Que Wong (New Malden) won the under-21 mixed consolation round robin and Sophie Lee was runner-up.

In the women’s under-21 event, Chui-Que Wong defeated Sophie Lee to win the title.

The Open Singles event, quarter-finals, saw Adam Laws beat Jaydan Griffiths, Piotr Odelski (Wandsworth) beat Hoj Yoon, Tomasz Watral (Wandsworth) beat Chui-Que Wong and Daniel Heo beat Ernie Kemp.

In the semi-finals, Tomasz Watral beat Daniel Heo 3-0 and Adam Laws beat Piotr Odelski 3-1.

Holly also won the Open Consolation event, beating Ashley Hird in the final.

The doubles semi-final saw Aryan Sarma (New Malden) and Hoj Yoon beat Steve Sharp (Rosehill) and Sagar Pattanayak (Rosehill), and Piotr Odelski and Tomasz Watral beat Adam Laws and Yevhenii Bohrieiev. Priotr Odelski and Tomasz Watral won the final 3-1 against Aryan Sarma and Hoj Yoon.

Surrey Inter League winning captains 2024-2025.

The Surrey Table Tennis Association hosted the 2024-2025 Surrey Inter League at Rosehill Table Tennis Club, Sutton, on Saturday 2 November.

Sutton entered two teams and Guildford and Haslemere entered one team.

Final order:

Guildford winners: Shaun Robertson (Merrow) and Ross Saxby (Burymead).

Sutton 1 finalists: Krishnamohan Nagarajan and Daniel Heo.

Third Sutton 2: Eunho Oh and Dean Rose.

Fourth Haslemere: Tim Hampton and Julien Blanc.

Kaden Gallagher (New Malden) won the under-13 boys’ event at the Worthing 1 Star Junior tournament and Sean Lee (New Malden) won the under-13 boys’ consolation event. Holly Holder was one of the referees for the event.
