Joe Rogan reveals Team Harris wanted ‘restrictions’ on possible interview

Popular podcast host Joe Rogan revealed more details about how he attempted to interview Vice President Kamala Harris before the election ever came to fruition.

“There were some restrictions on things they didn’t want to talk about, but I said, ‘I don’t care, bring her in here.’ Like, whatever you want to talk about,” Rogan said during a Friday episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Comments come after Rogan made waves by endorsing President-elect Donald Trump on the eve of the election, a rare nod to a political candidate from a podcast host who has won a legion of devotees.

Rogan supported Trump after he appeared for an interview on the podcast in late October, chatting with Rogan for nearly three hours. Rogan would later interview the billionaire Elon Muskwho became a key Trump ally throughout the campaign.

However, similar attempts to get Harris on his show didn’t pay off for the podcast star, who revealed Friday that he would have talked about anything in an attempt to get to know the Democratic presidential candidate.

“I bet there’s a person in there. I bet I can get to that person,” Rogan said. “I’d love to talk to him about all kinds of shit.”

Rogan previously revealed there was hope of a last-minute chance to sit down with Harris before Election Day, but those plans were scrapped when his team asked Rogan to come to her home for a one-hour interview only.

“Also, for the record, the Harris campaign has not ended. do the podcast“, Rogan said the day before the election. “They offered a meeting for Tuesday, but I would have had to go to her house, and they only wanted to do an hour. I’m convinced the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin. »

“My sincere wish is just to have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make that happen,” Rogan added.

Rogan also revealed that Harris’ team asked him if the show would be put on, which Rogan said he wouldn’t.

“They want to know if I’m editing. I was like, there’s going to be no editing, there’s going to be no editing. We’re not going to edit,” Rogan said.

Rogan, who has 14.5 million followers on Spotify and 17.6 million followers on YouTube, said that ultimately he just hoped to have a conversation with Harris, arguing that you can learn a lot about a person in a few hours.

“I just wanted to talk. I feel like you give someone a few hours and you start talking nonsense, I’m going to see the way you think, I’m going to see the way you treat ideas, I’m going to see if you’re calculated or not or if you’re just free,” Rogan said.

The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
