Backlund and Wolf lead Flames to 3-1 win over Kings

Captain Mikael Backlund had a goal and an assist to lead the Calgary Flames to a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

Jonathan Huberdeau with his team-best sixth goal and Kevin Rooney, in an empty net, also scored for Calgary (8-5-3). The Flames have collected points in four consecutive games (2-0-2).

Trevor Moore scored the only goal for Los Angeles (9-5-3), which lost in regulation for only the second time in the last seven games (4-2-1).

Rookie goaltender Dustin Wolf made 29 saves to improve to 5-2-1. He was 2:31 into his first NHL shutout when Moore scored with the goaltender pulled.
