Canada’s Triveni Mandir in Brampton cancels November 17 event amid threats of violent Khalistani protests

As Khalistan separatists threaten violent protests in Canada, the administration of the Brampton Triveni Mandir has canceled an event planned for November 17.

The event, to be held in cooperation with the Indian Consulate, would have seen the handing over of life certificates to Sikh and Hindu residents.

Temple administration canceled the event after an official Peel Regional Police tip told them there was an “extremely high and imminent threat level of violent demonstrations.”

In view of this notice, the Brampton Triveni Mandir authorities issued a statement saying, “On the advice of Chief Constable Nishan Duraiappah, we must take the appropriate decision to cancel to ensure the safety of the devotees of Brampton Triveni Mandir, visitors from the community and the general public.

In late October, Khalistan separatists attacked worshipers outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton and beat them with sticks. Video footage showing Khalistan separatists holding the group’s flags and beating worshipers has gone viral.

The Foreign Ministry condemned the incident. “We condemn the acts of violence perpetrated by extremists and separatists at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario. We also expect those who engage in violence to be prosecuted. We remain deeply concerned about the safety and security of Indian nationals in Canada. he said.
