Deion Sanders said he will tell NFL teams son Shedeur Sanders that he won’t play for them if he’s not the right fit.

It looks like there’s a chance we’ll have another Eli Manning situation in 2025. NFL Draft.

Before the 2004 draft, Manning sadly told the San Diego Chargers he would not play for them due to concerns over the direction of the organization.

Manning’s father, Archie, had a say in this dilemma for the Chargers, who agreed to trade the Ole Miss product to the New York Giants.

It worked for Manning, who won two Super Bowls with the Giants before retiring.

Colorado Buffaloes Head coach Deion Sanders told Fox Sports’ “Speak” that he would talk to an organization interested in drafting his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, if he feels it’s not the right fit.

“Yes, but I’m not going to do it publicly. I’m going to do it privately,” Sanders told the panel including Joy Taylor, Keyshawn Johnson, Michael Irvin and Paul Pierce.

“Coach Prime” added that he’s “going to be a dad until the cows come home,” and that includes watching over Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter.

2025 NFL DRAFT NO. 1 PICK: TRAVIS HUNTER CLOSES IN ON SHEDEUR SANDERS

Shedeur and Hunter should be first round selections of the 2025 NFL Draft.

So what exactly is Deion looking for in an NFL organization for his son and Hunter?

“I’m not going to give you regions. I’m going to give you understanding,” he said. “Someone who can handle the quarterback he is. Someone who can handle what he’s capable of. Someone who has had success in the past with quarterbacks or someone in an organization that understands that they do. Not just throw you among the wolves if you don’t have the support in the team infrastructure.

“Forget the (offensive) line. He played with lines that weren’t great, but he was able to do his thing. But just the infrastructure of the team and the direction we’re going. He can manage anything.

Deion also spoke about his son’s love of football.

“One thing about Shedeur that sets him apart from a lot of quarterbacks. Shedeur started every game in high school, every game in college except one, and he’s like that, man,” he said. “He has a real gift, and it comes from God. And he loves this game of football. You see him stunted from time to time like his dad, but that’s just who he is.

“This kid loves this game and he has an insatiable appetite to win. I want someone to be able to take him to the next level as well.”
