Just In: 19 administrators fail the qualification exam for the position of permanent secretary, HoS reacts

FCT, Abuja – On Wednesday, November 13, a report revealed that 19 directors out of 38 shortlisted for the post of permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service had failed the entrance exam.

It was reported that the administrators had drawn up the exams on Monday November 11, 2024.

A note signed by Dr Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the review committee, and released by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), on Tuesday, November 12, further confirmed this development.

Recall that in October, the federal government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubuthrough the OHCSF, initiated the selection process new permanent secretaries to fill vacancies in eight states.

Giving an update on the ongoing process, the OHCSF Press Director, Eno Olotu, said: “Out of the 38 eligible filmmakers who sat for the exam, 19 passed the first stage and will proceed to the second stage, which will assess their competence in the use of information and communication Technology (TIC) in government operations on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.”

Details about the recruitment process

Speaking further, Olotu stressed that the recruitment process follows a rigorous three-stage procedure to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are selected.

Successful candidates from the second stage will move on to the final stage on Friday, November 15, 2024, where they will face a panel comprising senior bureaucrats and representatives from the private sector, Channels TV reported.
