Fight escalates on bus, leads to shooting at Metro bus stop in Seat Pleasant: police

A fight on a Metro bus ended with a shooting from the bus at the Addison Road bus stop in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, according to the Metro Transit Police Department.

On Wednesday evening, five or six people got into a fight before boarding a Metro bus, and the fight continued to escalate on the bus, officials said. After about 90 seconds, officials said people got out of the bus and a shot was fired. Police responded to the shooting at the bus stop around 9:15 p.m.

One of the people involved was injured and taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities said. Another person had a broken arm, officials said.

The bus stop remains closed, officials said, as they continue their investigation.
