Edmonton police are asking the public for information after a 34-year-old woman was injured in a hit-and-run collision in southeast Edmonton Wednesday morning.

Around 7:20 a.m., officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a gray four-door sedan in the area of 34th Street and 58th Avenue, police said in a news release.

Police said the pedestrian was walking south at a marked crosswalk at the intersection when she was struck by the gray sedan traveling west on 34th Avenue.

After the collision, the driver of the sedan fled the scene.

Police said a passerby witnessed the collision and tended to the woman before emergency crews arrived at the scene. The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are seeking information about the driver of the sedan, and investigators would also like to speak to the witness who attended to the woman at the scene as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision.

“We hope to be able to speak to the person who selflessly helped this woman as well as any other witnesses who can help us identify the suspect responsible,” said EPS Const. Janelle Brown in a statement.

“In addition, we are seeking any on-board camera footage from motorists that may have filmed this morning’s collision.”

Any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage of the collision are asked to contact police at 780-423-4567.
