Colombo – Iranian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alireza Delkhosh has expressed hope for strengthening political, economic and cultural ties between Iran and Sri Lanka under the leadership of the newly elected government and parliament of country.

Following the successful parliamentary elections in Sri Lanka, Ambassador Delkhosh extended his congratulations to the government and people of Sri Lanka, calling the elections a testimony to the country’s strong democratic traditions.

In his statement, Delkhosh highlighted the long-standing bilateral relations between Iran and Sri Lanka and expressed optimism that the new political era would further foster cooperation in key sectors. He also highlighted the potential for increased inter-parliamentary exchanges and strengthening diplomatic relations under the new government.

The Iranian Ambassador reiterated Iran’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Sri Lanka and supporting the country’s economic development and well-being.
