Rams executives weigh in on playoff chances

The Los Angeles Rams (5-5) recently won their third game in the last four contests and are starting to look like they did this time last year, winning seven of their last eight and sneaking into a Wild Card playoff spot. They could definitely do it again this year.

After starting the season 1-4, the Rams returned to being a .500 team with a 2-1 record in football’s tightest division. They still have a chance to win the NFC West title or make the playoffs as a Wild Card.

Rams head coach Sean McVay spoke following his team’s 28-22 road win over the New England Patriots (3-8) in Week 11. He was asked about the current state of the team and what needs to be done in the final seven games to make one win a season and ultimately play some more football.

“Take it one week at a time,” McVay said. “Here’s what I know. You’re really starting the second half of the season. Any way you want to look at it, we look at it as these first nine games or the first half, here’s the second half of the season . It’s about how you finish. You have to be able to win it every day. We can’t play two games now, we can only play one game this week. super hot team coming to town, that’s what you like It’s a big challenge We’re 5-5 after ten games, I fully believe we’re capable of continuing to move in the right direction and ours. improve it looks like, I can’t wait until we can go swing and see what it’s like, you know, I’m sitting here saying and maybe you’ll ask “hey, you’re 6-5 now.” . But you have to earn it. We’ll take it one game at a time.”

Sunday’s win against the Patriots essentially kicked off the second half of the season. McVay wasn’t the only Rams commenting on his team’s ability to put together a similar winning streak and finish the year strong with a positive record.

“Yeah, you have to string together wins. That’s what you have to do,” the quarterback said. Matthew Stafford said after the match. “You have to try to take advantage of your momentum, the things that you do in a positive way, and find ways to improve in the things that maybe didn’t go the way you want in the game. Every game is different, and it’s going to have a different flow. You’re going to have to find a way to win it, which is the most important thing, but try to continue to be as good a football team as possible, and then when those- If opportunities present themselves in games to finish people off, we have to do a good job of finishing people off.”
