District SSS officials to improve support for MSMEs

District Collector TS Chetan on Wednesday asked officials to expedite the investigation into MSME promotion. The collector was presiding over the district industries and export promotion committee meeting here. He stressed the need to provide loan support to entrepreneurs keen to set up industries in the district.

At the meeting, it was decided to expedite the approval of pending permits for ten industries listed on the one-stop portal. Entrepreneurs submitted 3,994 requests for approvals and authorizations necessary for the creation of new industrial units. Of these, 3,883 were approved and 51 rejected.

Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), the Center is providing loans ranging from ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh to encourage the unemployed to set up businesses.

The Collector directed that loans should be easily available to qualified entrepreneurs and directed the officials to implement measures to establish industries on the plots allocated for the purpose. They must evaluate applications thoroughly, draw up a list of eligible candidates and request relevant authorities to take timely action.

The Collector reviewed the actions taken by the Department of Industries regarding new industries. He asked officials to ensure that permits for industrial units are granted within established deadlines.

APICC Zonal Officer Soni Sahani, Industries Officer Sanjeev Raju and entrepreneurs from across the district participated.
