Argentine Ambassador Meets with BGMEA Administrator to Discuss Trade and Investment Potential

Marcelo Carlos Sesa, Ambassador of Argentina to Bangladesh, met Anwar Hossain, BGMEA Administrator and Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), at the EPB office in Dhaka yesterday.

The meeting focused on exploring potential areas of trade and investment and strengthening collaboration between Bangladesh and Argentina.

During the discussions, they highlighted the immense potential for boosting bilateral trade and investment through strengthened partnerships, said a press release issued today.

They stressed the importance of increasing communication and fostering stronger ties between the two countries’ business communities in order to unlock the full potential of business opportunities.

Ambassador Marcelo Sesa and BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain stressed the need to organize road shows and fairs in one country to facilitate direct communication between businessmen of Bangladesh and Argentina .

Such initiatives would provide an excellent platform to showcase the strengths and capabilities of both countries, thereby allowing businesses to explore new trade and investment opportunities.

Anwar Hossain briefed Ambassador Sesa about Bangladesh’s emphasis on product diversification in the ready-to-wear sector, particularly by expanding into high-value garments using synthetic fibers. He sought the ambassador’s support to increase clothing exports to Argentina.

Administrator Anwar Hossain informed the ambassador of Bangladesh’s interest in importing cotton from Argentina, highlighting the mutual benefits of such a partnership.

This collaboration could create a win-win scenario for both countries, contributing to the growth of their respective economies.

The BGMEA administrator also sought the ambassador’s help in simplifying the visa process for Bangladeshi businessmen wishing to visit Argentina, in order to promote stronger trade.
