Local News

Stewart played a clip of Rep. Jim McGovern to illustrate his point.

Following the news of Joe BidenFollowing his son Hunter’s full pardon on Sunday, Jon Stewart mocked the president and what he saw as the hypocrisy surrounding the president’s decision.

Forgivenesswhich protects Biden’s son from prosecution for years of federal crimes he may have committed, comes after Biden’s previous pledges not to grant him a pardon.

“Biden has made this line of attack particularly available given that he spent so long saying he wouldn’t do it,” Stewart said.

In the segment, Stewart used a clip of Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern to show how “Democrats have made Biden’s pledge not to pardon Hunter the foundation of their defense of America.”

“One political party remains committed to the rule of law and the other does not,” McGovern said at a House Rules Committee hearing before Biden’s pardon this week. “It’s that simple.”
