Ali Fazal, who plays a significant role throughout the series, recently revealed details about this upcoming project, stating that it might take Peaky Blinders’ approach to bringing back dead characters.

Mirzapur has been one of the most popular series in the OTT space for years now. The third season was released this year and some time ago, the makers announced Mirzapur the movie, much to the delight of the audience. Ali Fazalwho plays a significant role throughout the series, recently revealed details about this upcoming project, stating that he could take the Peaky Blinders approach by bringing back dead characters from the series for the film’s plot.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India for an actors’ roundtable, Ali said, “We are very excited. It’s the OG cast and we’re at the back of the table. In time, I suppose. We have to go back in time because the dead walk. » While the interviewer asked if the creators were planning a prequel to the series, Ali claimed that they would eventually find out once the series was released. However, the actor mentioned, “We are excited to bring it to the cinema. Peaky Blinders did it too. It wasn’t a one-off or strange choice.

Earlier, in a conversation with Sucharita Tyagi, Ali Fazal revealed how intense the action sequences in Mirzapur were. The actor said, “Moral dilemmas arise” during filming. Recalling one such incident, he shared, “In Mirzapur, there was a scene where I killed someone in a way that I thought at the time was very unnecessary to execute that scene. I just couldn’t redeem myself. The character couldn’t have redeemed himself from this either. I thought that was just wrong, why would you write that?

Apart from Ali Fazal, Mirzapur features actors Pankaj Tripathi, Divyendu Sharma, Rasika Dugal and Vikrant Massey. A theatrical spin-off film titled Mirzapur: The Movie was announced in October 2024.

Meanwhile, Ali Fazal’s next film is Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino (2024). Additionally, he will appear in Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947 and Thug Life, co-starring Kamal Haasan. Her list of intriguing projects also includes the Hollywood film Rule Breakers, starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The film is directed by two-time Oscar winner Bill Guttentag and is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2025.
