OnePlus announces Project Starlight, promising Rs 6,000 crore investment in India

OnePlus unveiled an annual investment plan of Rs 2,000 crore dubbed Starlight Projectwhich will amount to Rs 6,000 crore till 2027, aiming to enhance its product and service offerings in the Indian market over the next three years.

Project Starlight focuses on three critical areas: device durability, exceptional customer service, and India-specific technological innovations. According to OnePlus, at the heart of this commitment is a deep understanding of the unique technological needs and challenges of Indian users.
“India remains a top priority for us globally,” Liu said, highlighting the company’s strategic focus on understanding and serving the Indian consumer market with precision and innovation.
CEO of OnePlus Robin Liu highlighted the company’s commitment to meeting local user requirements, particularly regarding device performance in extreme conditions such as intense heat and high humidity.
The project promises other advancements, including a first DisplayMate A++ display boasting a peak brightness of 4,500 nits and a Green Line Worry-Free solution that extends the lifetime warranty against display issues.
OnePlus has partnered with Jio and from the next OnePlus 13 Series will present 5.5G connectivity with an average speed improvement of 380% and a Steady Connect feature extending the Bluetooth range to 360 meters. Additionally, the company has also partnered with Delhi Metro, introducing customized solutions, bringing features such as signal optimization to the Delhi Metro network.
Features such as Steady Connect will extend Bluetooth connectivity up to 360 meters, meeting specific user needs in environments ranging from gyms to crowded subway stations.

Project Starlight expands OnePlus’ service and support infrastructure in India

By prioritizing localized technology solutions and robust services infrastructure, OnePlus is positioning itself as more than just a smartphone manufacturer. “India remains a top priority for us globally,” Liu emphasized, signaling the company’s long-term commitment to technological innovation and user-centered design.
The company plans significant expansions to its service infrastructure, with a 50% increase in the number of service centers targeted by mid-2026. This includes 22% growth in existing service points and enhanced online support channels such as hotline, WhatsApp and live chat services.
