Women will examine financing the green economy

ImpactHER, a non-profit organization, has announced that it will host an African Women’s Sustainability Conference in 2024, aiming to position women entrepreneurs at the forefront of Africa’s green revolution.

In a statement, ImpactHER, in collaboration with the African Union and the United States Department of Commerce, noted that the conference, titled “Unlocking Africa’s Green Revolution: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs as Catalysts of Growth sustainable and unlock access to eco-financing” would be held. in Abuja.

According to organizers, the conference is expected to bring together leaders from more than 10 African countries, global financiers and key stakeholders to close the green financing gap and explore sustainable solutions.

“It’s more than a conference, it’s a turning point for African women entrepreneurs. By bringing together government leaders, global financiers and visionary women entrepreneurs, we aim to unlock millions of dollars in eco-financing by 2026 and position women as the driving force of Africa’s sustainable future,” said ImpactHER founder Efe Ukala.

He noted that ministers from Nigeria, Chad, Liberia, Malawi, Benin, Zambia, Uganda, Cameroon, Gambia and Kenya were expected, adding that they would be joined by representatives from major financial institutions and the U.S. Department of Commerce to discuss. discuss eco-financing and sustainability opportunities.

The two-day event will include executive panel discussions, green business certification workshops and a green business idea pitch competition. Attendees will also interact with exhibits showcasing successful sustainable business models.

The organizers added that they believed the conference would catalyze the empowerment of women entrepreneurs and promote sustainable economic growth across Africa.
