EssilorLuxottica greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets
validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

Paris, France (December 12, 2024) – EssilorLuxottica today announced that its short-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), marking a key milestone in the company’s efforts. company to reduce the environmental impact across its entire value chain.

The new targets for 2030 relate to emissions in company scopes 1, 2 and 3, in line with climate mitigation efforts outlined in the Paris Agreement adopted by the United Nations in 2015.

EssilorLuxottica is committed to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, compared to the base year 2022. In addition, the Group is committed to reducing absolute emissions by 25%. scope 3 GHGs from purchased goods and services, fuel and energy activities, upstream transport and distribution and waste generated during operations within the same time frame.
