Rounding up the experts’ picks for Week 15 Eagles vs. Steelers

After securing a spot in the playoffs with a victory over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday, the Eagles (11-2) turn their attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers as they aim to extend their nine-game winning streak in an intrastate battle.

The Birds are five-point favorites against the Steelers (10-3), who are coming off a 27-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns, putting them two games above the Baltimore Ravens atop the AFC North . The Steelers are expected to be without No. 1 receiver George Pickens, who is reportedly dealing with a hamstring strain after missing last week’s game against the Browns.

Meanwhile, the Eagles secured a victory over the three-win Panthers thanks to an impressive Saquon Barkley performance. The Steelers will likely focus on stopping the MVP candidate. Will the Steelers be able to limit Barkley and pull out a win in Philadelphia? Or will the Eagles continue their streak? Here’s what experts from local and national media are saying…

Inquirer beat the writers

We start with our own beat writers from the Eagles. Here’s a clip from Jeff McLane’s prediction, which is not what Philly fans want to see…

They need to get Hurts’ confidence back, but this might not be the right week. Pittsburgh’s defense is so dangerous. His offense, however, isn’t that scary, especially without George Pickens. The Eagles have more talent on paper, but I think they will lose and that might not be the worst thing with the #1 seed in the NFC, unlikely. I guess it all depends on looks and how they react.

Prediction: Steelers 20, Eagles 17
