Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) is expected to make his 2024 debut next week against the Jets, coach Sean McVay said Friday.

“We haven’t made this decision official, but everything that’s happened over the last couple of weeks, we’ve kind of had the expectation and anticipation that this would be something that we were planning to make,” McVay said, via a team transcript. “Now, nothing is finalized yet, but with the progress he has made in the last two weeks, the way he presents himself in training, we can expect him to be ready to face the Jets But I don’t want to put a 100 percent mark on it, but that’s the plan.

Higbee did not play this season after tearing his MCL and ACL during the 2023 playoffs. He remains on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, but returned to practice on November 27.

McVay also said outside linebacker Nick Hampton tore his pectoral against the 49ers last night and will require season-ending surgery.
