Appeal to find homes for chickens rescued from poor indoor environment

Animal rescue charity based nearby WelshMyosotis Animal Protection, hopes to find happy homes for 50 chickens.

The chickens were rescued by the charity and have been available for rehoming since December 14.

Margaret Brayne, long-time volunteer at Forget-me-not, said: “We are looking for ethical, loving homes for around 50 rescued chickens.

“If you or someone you know can provide a safe, caring and happy forever home for these lovely hens, please contact us via Facebook, our logo is a piglet and two rescued hens on either side of him.”

To request rehousing of chickens, residents must provide their name, address and the number of chickens they wish to rehome. Applicants must also provide a photo or video of their garden, enclosure and “co-op setup”.

The charity is asking for a donation of £5 per hen for adoption, which will help cover the costs of the major rescue which originally involved 500 hens.

For more information or to apply for chicken adoption, visit Myosotis Facebook page or email [email protected].
