Bhartiya Kisan Union (Sir Chotu Ram) spokesperson Bahadur Mehla, who accompanied Punia to Shambhu from Karnal, said the Union government should accept their demand for legal guarantee on MSP and take immediate measures in view of the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal.

Similarly, Haryana farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni, who has been absent from protests since February, decided to meet the ailing farmer leader at Khanouri border along with his union members on Sunday.

Charuni, who is the president of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Charuni), said his union members from Haryana and Punjab will reach the venue, where it will be decided how all unions can unite under SKM for further action.

Mobile internet, bulk SMS services suspended in 12 villages in Ambala

Hours before the farmers’ protest march towards Delhi from the Shambhu border resumed, the Haryana government on Saturday ordered suspension of data internet services in 12 villages in Ambala along the Shambhu border .

As per the order of the Ministry of Interior, internet services will remain suspended in Dangdehri, Lohgarh, Manakpur, Dadiana, Bari Ghel, Choti Ghel Lharsa, Kalu Majra, Devi Nagar, Sadopur, Sultanpur and Kakru villages of district d ‘Ambala until December 17.

Meanwhile, Ambala SP Surender Singh Bhoria denied the farmers’ allegations that they used water mixed with chemicals in water cannons and expired tear gas canisters.

“As the ‘jatha’ approached the barricades, we had a detailed conversation for almost 45 minutes and as the discussions progressed, some of them tried to remove the grills. Claims regarding the use of water mixed with chemicals are unfounded. I assure you that only clear water was used from the water cannons to disperse the crowd and that we only used appropriate tear gas shells. We have made repeated appeals that they should not take the law into their hands and get permission from the Delhi administration to protest,” he added.
