MINSK, December 23. /TASS/. More than 90 international observers have been accredited to monitor the presidential election in Belarus on January 26, 2025, said Igor Karpenko, chairman of the country’s Central Election Commission (CEC).

“Ninety-three international observers have already been accredited to monitor the elections. Among them are observers from the CIS mission, legislators, delegates from the Non-Aligned Movement youth organization, electoral bodies foreign states and independent observers,” he said.

He recalled that he had recently met with the head of the CIS observer mission and Secretary General of the CIS, Sergei Lebedev, who announced his intention to send more than 50 long-term observers.

“Around 150 additional observers will arrive in Belarus a few days before the elections. The mission will have a total of around 200 members,” Karpenko added.
