There will be no changing of the guard ceremony on Saturday due to national mourning over the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, according to a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Singh, the architect of India’s economic reforms, breathed his last on Thursday evening at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He was 92 years old.

“The changing of the guard ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan will not take place tomorrow (December 28, 2024) due to national mourning,” the President’s Office said in a statement.
