In addition to reminding riders to check their belongings twice before heading out, the results highlight Uber’s commitment to simplifying the process of recovering lost items.

According to the 2024 version of Uber’s Lost and Found Index, Delhi tops the list of cities lost by forgetful travelers. The report also presents a set of information on the items passengers typically leave behind on Uber trips, highlighting the steps available in the app to help passengers retrieve their belongings.

When it comes to often forgotten products, the survey claims that phones, handbags, wallets and outfits top the list in India. It is closely followed by utility objects such as a water bottle and keys, then by fashion accessories, namely glasses and jewelry.

Among the more unusual items left at Uber were a ukulele, a coin collection, a prasad and even a hair clipper. Some passengers have forgotten important documents such as passports or bank or business papers during their journey.

He ranked cities based on how forgetful their passengers were. Mumbai emerged as the second most forgetful city. Bangalore is in third position, Hyderabad in fourth and Pune in fifth. Nitish Bhushan, head of central operations at Uber, commenting on the investigation said:

“We have all been passengers and had that moment when we suddenly realized that we had forgotten a precious item or even a precious item in a taxi.
